Excited Bolivian fans of Korean K Pop music waited patiently to buy tickets Friday (January 17) for a chance to see one of their favorites Kim Hyung Jun in concert.

Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, the K Pop sensation has taken hold in Bolivia and thousands of teenage girls are firmly on board wanting more and more.

"That he (Kim Hyung Jun) has come here means a lot. It opens the door so that more K Pop groups come to our country," said Soledad Cornejo as she waited outside the theater where Jun will perform. "Many of us have to go to other countries for their concerts. We went to Peru to so the Big Bang. It is a dream made reality."

"To see him is really great for all of us. The fans of 'Baby' (Kim Hyung Jun) have formed a group called the Junus," said another fan Fabiola Callisaya.

At a news conference held before his performance Jun said he and other K Pop groups are very aware of the burgeoning interest in their music throughout Latin America.

"We know that a lot of people here like our music, the Korean music. I have spoken to members of other groups like SS501. I know they want to come," he said in Korean.

"My objective now is to write a song in spanish for my fans in Latin America."

[Article] “Inspiring Generation” Is Off To An Inspiring Start

"Inspiring Generation," starring Kim Hyun Joong, jumped straight into second place with its first episode, earning impressive ratings of 7.8 percent.

The opening episode was successful for several reasons. Kim Hyun Joong's fans have not seen him in a drama for a few years and many were curious about his macho new look. The actor has worked hard to shed his flower boy image and come across as his tough streetfighter character. But the presence of a star can't always hold a drama audience. The ratings for "Pretty Man" proved that.

Fortunately, "Inspiring Generation" already looks like it will have even more to offer than star power. The KBS drama is visually appealing, showing the benefit of two years of planning, location scouting and millions of dollars spent on sets and clothes for the production.

The story began with a backward glance at the childhood relationships between the main characters. Kim Hyun Joongplays streetfighter Jung Tae as an adult and Kwak Dong Yeon plays him as a boy. Jung Tae grows up with Ok Ryeon, played by Jin Se Yeon and Ji Woo. She likes him but he treats her like a kid sister. Gaya, played by Lim Sooo Hyang, also cares for him. It's evident that Jung Tae will have a future as a fighter.

The ratings for "Inspiring Generation" exceeded those of "Miss Korea" which reached 6.8 percent of the viewers. The ratings for "Miss Korea" were down 1.7 percent from its previous episode.

But as impressive as the ratings for "Inspiring Generation" were, they could not compete with the popular SBS drama "You Who Came From The Stars," which is already well underway. That drama rated 23.1 percent of the viewers, down slightly from previous ratings of 24.4 percent. The drama already has a dedicated fan base eager to see both actress Chun Song Yi, played by Jun Ji Hyun, and alien Do Min Joon, played by Kim Soo Hyun, become more human. In Do Min Joon's case this might be a good or a bad thing.

While his relationship with Chun Song Yi helps him experience life's joys, mixing saliva with her has already caused him to become more vulnerable. Exposing his super powers in attempts to save her mean he may not be able to hide his identity much longer.

And when his spaceship arrives to take him home, he may face a conflict.

[News] Kim Hyun Joong Not Nervous of Kwak Dong Yeon's Good Acting Skills

'Inspiring Generation' Kim Hyun Joong, 'Are You Nervous Because of Kwak Dong-yeon's good acting skills? NO'

KHJ: I've heard many people saying that I resemble Kwak Dong Yeon. I don't know whether is it because we have the same haircut but thanks to the resemblance, I think it can give more essence to the drama.

When asked whether is he influenced by the child actor's remarkable acting skills...

KHJ: Absolutely not. Kwak Dong Yeon has his own thoughts and acting skills as an actor, and so do I. But as good as he's doing in his role, I'm not feeling nervous or stressed because of this.

[News]Kim Hyun Joong Underwent Three Months of Hard Training to Get Rid of Flower Boy Image

Coming back on TV after a lapse of four years, Kim Hyun Joong ( 28 years old ) tried to get rid of flower boy image, and even changed his voice.

In the premiere of the new KBS2 TV Wednesday and Thursday drama ‘Inspiring Generation’ starting on 15th January 22:00, Kim Hyun Joong played Shin Jung Tae, the best fighter in North Korea in the 1930s, he will appear at the end of child actors scenes, from the fifth episodes onward, and lead the plot development. Kim Hyun Joong, who played flower boys in his 2 previous works ‘Boys Over Flowers’ ( 2009 ) and ‘Player Kiss’ ( 2010 ) intended to transform his image with this latest work. Souces from ‘Inspiring Generation’ revealed that in order to perfectly interpret the role of Shin Jung Tae, who is ultra competitive and intensely loyal, Kim Hyun Joong specially attended martial arts school for 3 months, and even changed his voice.

Sources from his agency indicated, ‘Even before the first shooting in November 2013, Kim Hyun Joong had practised with the director Kim Jung-Kyu to achieve a lower tone of voice, so that it’ll pack a punch even when he’s delivering very short lines’, ‘Also attended martial arts school for a few months, to familiarise himself with the basic action routine, for this comeback after a lapse of four years, he’s devoted fully to it with great enthusiasm’, ‘Please look forward to this transformation of his.’

[Ratings: Wed, 01.15.14] Chun Song Yi Becomes a Caterpillar and Kim Hyun Joong Smiles at Second

A competitor has arrived in the arena, and so far, it’s looking decent for KBS’ Age of Feeling.

Age of Feeling debuted on Wednesday night with Kim Hyun Joong leading the pack. The first episode was met with much interest coming in at second place, having jumped four percent from where Pretty Boy left off last week.

Kim Hyun Joong’s transformation from flower boy to charismatic man is also in progress, perhaps, foreshadowing high ratings in the near future.

Meanwhile, SBS’ You Who Came From the Stars remained at first place, despite dropping slightly from its previous ratings of 24.4 percent. After a consistent rise, it seems the drama is now stuck in the lower 20s, but no worries, since the drama is already being hailed as a major success.
