[Info] Kim Hyun Joong and Hwang Bo also Known as JoongBo Couple Ranks #6 ; Couch Kimchi Stalks Soompi For Their 15 Favorite Couples

I am so happy after seeing this! my fave WGM couple is in the list! 5 long years after that variety show and they are still love by many ( including me... YES!) (^^,.

so thank you so much Couch Kimchi for this compilation!

15 Favorite Couples

As everyone knows, don’t watch Korean dramas if you don’t like romance. It’s that simple. And you can’t truly enjoy a romantic drama if you don’t root for the couple. So, these are our top 15 couples that made us jump for joy when they kissed and made us cry like loonies when they broke up; the ones that got us writing epistles during their fights and left us speechless at their most intimate moments. Basically, the couples that made our hearts sing.

1. EunSoo (Coffee House). There’d be no Couch Kimchi without EunSoo, so, they have to be at the top of the list.

It was the summer of 2010 and while the rest of the world was debating Ronaldo vs. Rooney, for us, it was Eun Young (Park Si Yeon) versus Seung Yeon (Ham Eun Jung). We spent 8 weeks (plus a World Cup hiatus) on Soompi’s Coffee House thread, debating on when Jin Soo (Kang Ji Hwan) first fell for Eun Young, replaying Jin Soo’s sprint in Episode 9, the phone booth kiss, the train kiss, and cried with joy when he kicked down the door to her wedding hall. While we are 100% against second-hand rings, we couldn’t help but tear up when he took her hand and sealed their 60-year contract with it.

2. Kim Sam Soon & Hyun Jin Heon (My Name Is Kim Sam Soon). Once upon a time, there was a pastry chef who got dumped, went to the men’s bathroom, and met Hyun Bin. Let’s just say we’ve mistakenly wandered into the men’s bathroom a few times since watching this drama. But alas, no Hyun Bin. We’ve also gone to arranged dates at hotels waiting for him. Still no show. Gone to a hotel elevator and hoped to have a chemistry-exploding, tense moment with him. No luck. Waited around to be pulled into a restroom and kissed. Nothing for us. Played a piano, hoping to play next to him, and get kissed. Still waiting. Heck, we even got a huge stuffed animal so that we could leave it at his place. But sadly, the cute piggy is just collecting dust in a closet. Oh well. At least Sam Soon (Kim Sun Ah) got her happy ending.

3. Kang Moo Kyul & Wi Mae Ri (Mary Stayed Out All Night).
They were like two, small puppies rolling around on the floor, playing. ADORABLE. They didn’t so much sizzle but brought out the “Awww” in everyone. The drama itself went off into crazy-ville, but many of us tuned in just to see Mae Ri (Moon Geun Young) and Moo Kyul (Jang Geun Suk).

Youthful, relatable and just … cute. This pairing is gold, and one we would love to see join up again for something good.

4. Kim Boong Do & Choi Hee Jin (Queen InHyun’s Man). They not only took us to the edge of the cliff, but pushed us over when Ji Hyun Woo and Yoo In Na became a real couple. Pretty sure it was that “tiptoe kiss” that let the cat out of the bag. Their onscreen chemistry sizzled while BTS pictures showed them getting closer … and closer. (I just knew it! -Tessieroo) Perfect pairing, perfect timing, perfect story—that doesn’t happen much. And there were no exes anywhere in the plot; they loved only each other. Period.

5. Han Kang & Shin Ji Hyun (49 Days). Have you ever fallen in love with a couple on premise alone? In our opinion, this drama was polarizing based on actor chemistry, not character chemistry. We thought Ji Hyun (Nam Gyu Ri) and Han Kang (Jo Hyun Jae) were perfect for each other, regardless of the actors. The story of a cranky guy who has been so in love with a girl for 10 years that not only does the love not die after she gets engaged to his friend, he falls for her in a different body and freaking recognizes her. Then, he does everything in his power to save her. If this isn’t a love for the ages, what is?

6. JoongBo (We Got Married). The story of the robotic idol and the bubbly older singer. She can talk to everybody, and he can talk to no one, and seeing them together made for a such an awkward coupling that we couldn’t help but root for them to be together.

It was the classic rom-com couple of the reluctant hero and his overcompensating love interest. Moving in together, writing their couple contract, paper cranes, aegyo, Japan trip, their wedding shoot kisses … there was much to love with this odd couple.

Oh, and when Hyun Joong told his fans not to get up in arms about him kissing Hwangbo because they all do it with their boyfriends (or something like that)? Priceless.

7. SamMi (Dream High). Our dearest SamMi (Kim Soo Hyun and Suzy)! The best campus couple of 2011. How cute when our adorable country bumpkin fell in love with a snob from Seoul. Although we personally enjoyed the pendulum swing from MiGook to finally SamMi, it was worth it to experience the sweetness of finding out for whom Hye Mi’s heart truly beat. Young love was best portrayed here.

8. Arang & Eun Oh (Arang and The Magistrate).
And the drama gods said, “Let there be the most awesome union of the boy with the most piercing eyes and the girl with dimples as deep as a hole to China”; and it was so that we raised up our arms and rejoiced, and if we had armpit hairs, they’d have high-fived K-drama heaven, too.

Shin Min Ah‘s amnesiac ghost and Lee Jun Ki‘s heroic magistrate made us hopeful about second chances and soulmates. After a cosmic battle royale that involved grim reapers, a rogue fairy, twin gods, and a ninja with mommy issues, Arang and Eun Oh earned their enduring love. And if the highest authorities of the dramaverse approve of the twosome, then, who are we to disagree?

9. Crown Prince Lee Shin & Shin Chae Kyung (Goong). Even in Korea’s alternate reality, regular girls dream of becoming a princess and meeting their prince charming, but the bumbling Shin Chae Kyung (Yoon Eun Hye) was the serendipitous choice to live the fairytale. It was a chilly start though with her handsome but not-so-charming Crown Prince Lee Shin (Joo Ji Hoon), who was like a popsicle—cold and with a stick up his royal chute. But in K-dramas, throwing the OTP in the same home speeds up their feelings, and in no time, we were falling in love with falling in love as Chae Kyung and Shin were falling for each other. While their young marriage struggled through the difficulties of palace life and politics, our appreciation for their funny, lovely, and touching scenes swelled, but we were craziest about them when they made up and made out just a few steps closer to the bedroom.

10. Lee Kyu Won & Lee Shin (Heartstrings). Their simplicity was truly striking. If love was not spoken, then, these two best demonstrated it through actions. Even their silence resonated love.

We always believe that love is like an extremely close friendship. The Dooley Couple (Jung Yonghwa and Park Shin Hye) understood each other more than anybody. Both were supportive of each other’s goals and always had each other’s back. Now, who wouldn’t want a guy who also happens to be your best friend?! Especially if it’s Shin, count us in, and given how close the actors are offscreen, it’s 2-for-1 shipping with this couple.

11. Lee Yeon Jae & Kang Ji Wook (Scent of a Woman).
We love Kim Sun Ah here and Lee Dong Wook is army-hawt, so, of course, we were on this faster than a desperate second lead could say, “Oppa!”

A woman with six months to live and a chaebol son who can’t help but fall for her. Comedic, heart-wrenching, and sexy (who can forget their tango?), we couldn’t help but love them, as they crossed things off Yeon Jae’s bucket list together.

We wonder how many people signed up for dance lessons after this.

12. Yoon Yoon Jae & Sung Shi Won (Answer Me 1997). “Who will she marry?” That was the question the drama repeatedly asked for what felt like 97 years, but who did not fall in love with Yoon Jae (Seo In Gook)? If your answer is “me,” then from what planet are you?

One thing we did know was that Yoon Jae and Shi Won (Jung Eun Ji) were meant for each other. Friends since childhood, we watched in anticipation as he crushed on her big time and wanted to shake her when she didn’t realize how much she was already in love with him.

Yoon Jae and Shi Won had an amazing love story that we won’t get tired of experiencing again … and again. It’s relatable in every sense, and this couple is as normal as it gets.

13. Sun Woo In Young & Bae Sung Hyun (I Need Romance, 2011). A chaebol son doesn’t get the girl? To hell with you, writer!

We always whine about Korean dramas being cliché, using the same plot, but we welcome it when the characters are so impeccably matched that it’s a disgrace and shocking when she goes back to her cheating-cheater boyfriend who cheats. He might have been her first love, but the relationship with her second love was SO much better. More laughter, more communication, more warmth … how right this couple were together. Great comedic timing together, too; they just GOT each other. And their sexual chemistry? Oh my! That kiss in the car? Omo, omo, omo! We’re surprised they didn’t make a baby right there (we love cable!). But alas, the writer didn’t hear our pleas. *sniff*

14. Yoon Pil Joo and Ku Ae Jung. (The Greatest Love). We hate when we love the second lead guy the most in a series. Pil Joo was the typical male second lead, who suffered from a love that could have been. He surrendered his love for the sake of Ae Jung’s happiness. Though it hurt, that still provided an emotional pull at our heart strings. We admire second lead guys when they are brave enough to let go because sometimes, that kind of gesture means loving more, too. These guys will always have a home in our K-drama hearts.

15. Couple we’d love to see in a drama and deserve an official ship thread on Soompi. Since watching Lee Seung Gi and Park Shin Hye team up in the MV for his Japanese single “Alone In Love,” we’ve been craving to see them reunite for a drama.

The MV didn’t end well, with Shin Hye wanting Seung Gi only as a friend, but the chemistry was there. They are adorable together: both sweet, both quirky, both gorgeous, and both have the loveliest, warm smile! There is no reason to pass up on this duo.

[Fan Account 1] Kim Hyun Joong SBS Barefoot Friends Filming in Vietnam

I just summarize the main point with HyunJoong.

  • Do you remember the old lady with leaf-cone hat that waiting for Hyun Joong at TSN airport.
  • Just glad to know that she loved HJ since 2009. Thanks to Hyun Joong, she overcame her hard time at work and life. She had the optimistic point of view and felt that life was much happier and brighter since the moment she knew Hyun Joong.
  • She is up-to-date with Hyun Joong’s latest news and info.
  • She event followed Hyun Joong to Mui Ne.
    • < Woa Our HyunJoong really had “SMILE POWER”>
  • 12h25…on the right gate, some Henecian screamed when they saw a quick glance of Hyun Joong. The situation was in chaos. Was it dangerous for him going through normal gate.????
  • Really dangerous for him…
    • < U guys can see the situation in the 4th April fancam>
  • Going through the overexcited surrounding like this, Hyun Joong seemed to be frightened and smile faded on his face. With the help of bodyguards, finally he got on the car safely. He sat at the back seat and closed the curtain.
  • At the cafeteria of domestic station, with the perfect zoom function of the camera, we could see the rooftop of C.T Plaze where HyunJoong was filming. Someone with a Blue Áo dài and a hat was moving side by side, *Vietnamese traditional dress with two tunics*. That was our Hyun Joong. He was shooting for the first game called “Đá cầu” to select the destination between Hue and Mui Ne.
  • Feeling sad to see him in the extremely hot temperature like this.
  • As last Hyun Joong’s team lost so that they had to go to Mui ne at 6pm.
  • Before going for the next destination, The crew stopped at a Korean restaurant for lunch or dinner.
  • After the good meal, HyunJoong’s mood was better, he even smiled and waved to fan.
  • < U can see the pictures taken on the car and the expression of UEE when seeing his sitting gesture. lol >
  • We decided to go to Mui Ne first and searched for his shooting info later. Just went to Mũi Né !
  • Because we know that HyunJoong wouldn’t want his fan to be in dangerous stalking him.
  • Due to the secret info from the interpreter * niece of Big Fan* we knew where HyunJoong would stay. The crew arrived Phan Thiet at around mid-night. After a short rest, they continued the filming at 4~5 am.
  • The shooting place: Mui Ne sand dune * 30 kilometers from Phan Thiet city*
  • We rested at Big Fan’s house.
  • End the 1st day.
  • 5th April
  • Some information we got from the cute interpreter.
  • “They will shoot the sun rise view there.
  • HJ will sell seafood in the small market there. Can u disguise as local to buy the seafood for him, Be careful, don’t let out you are his fan or his mission fails. He will get the punish and no lunch T-T”
  • 5:00 am we arrived the sand dune with casual outfit * not Henecia VN uniform* the staffs were coming. HyunJoong’s car didn’t arrive yet.
  • 5:30 2nd car came. That was KHD and Uee…oh, HyunJoong was with them too.
  • Few minutes later, all got out of the car. HyunJoong, UEE and Kang Ho Dong’ eyes were covered with blindfold ( look like Blind man’s bluff game). They held other hands and headed to the dune calmly and carefully.
  • He was wearing Discovery sponsors clothes together with Tai bèo hat.
  • We observed them from the long distance because we were afraid that the staffs could recognize us and change the script.
  • His shade faded in the sand dune.
  • Now his eyes were uncovered. They had a running competition on sand dune. Who ran to the destination first would be the winner. At first HyunJoong tried his best to run. About the last 0.5 meters to the destination, HyunJoong seemed to be exhausted and stayed still, no move a bit. KHD and UEE passed over him and reached there first. HyunJoong was the last. He lost his sense for a bit…. < You are really something HyunJoong-ah, poor u>
  • Their eyes were cover again. He was holding Uee’s hand ( ahhh jealous)
  • When his eyes were free, he looked around seeking for the “ fighting sound” that he just heard.
    • < You look like a talkative boy HyunJoong ah~>
  • They finished the filming and moved to the other place.

[Fan Account 2] Kim Hyun Joong SBS Barefoot Friends Filming in Vietnam

I just summarize the main point with Hyun Joong.

  • The driver drove 2-3 rounds around Mui Ne. We thought that he wanted to cut our trace but the fact was he got lost * omo *
  • They stopped at an old, small country-style house *this was their homestay for 1 night*
  • < Maybe the funny facts happened under this house’roof>
  • When our taxi passed by HJ’s car, our eyes met HJ’s eyes. Seeing a full crowded taxi with people smiling back to him, maybe HJ felt strange. Kekeke.
  • Around 7am we arrived at the market, we splitted into pairs.
  • All the staff headed to the fish port. So his mission was catching the seafood ~ < The pic with Thuyền thúng>
  • When we were waiting at a foodstall, the seller said that “ later that handsome boy will sell seafood here. At 3pm I will teach him how to make pancakes and sell at the other side of the hospital over there. Can you see?”
  • By chance we got the precious information.
  • We felt lucky for HyunJoong when he filmed with the nice local people here and not being disturbed by crazy fans of his teammate. The most important fact was we can’t see him in close distance like this, keke.
  • We began to disguise and wandered around the market just for killing the time.
  • 10:30 Some staffs arranged the stuff for selling.
  • 10:50 a handsome boy with wet clothes passing by us…. It was HyunJoong… He walked back from the port and looking around. His face is a little bit silly * sr for this*
  • Some women said that “ The handsome boy is really familiar”
  • Selling seafood part.
  • Seeing potential customers, he waved us with his brighten eyes and kept saying in Vietnamese “Go, go, go đến đây mua đi, mua đi.” < Go go go and buy this > with his cute voice.
  • We came nearer and nearer, he pointed to the fish and said in VNese “Buy this, buy this”
  • In the container, there were 2 dead fish, 3 small crabs, a squid, some snails. That was all for their 3 hours diving on the sea.
  • If HyunJoong’s team could finish the mission, they would be starved.
  • He said “ we don’t know the price, it’s up to you for the price”
  • When I was clamped by the crab, HyunJoong gave me a small basket to catch it. He meant that I shouldn’t catch it with bare hand~ so touching oppa ah ~
  • I gave KHD ~ 13USD for 0.6 kg and he asked if this was the best right for this?
  • One of my friend said that “ Oh it’s too much” , after hearing the interpretation, KHD gave money back to us.
  • HyunJoong changed his face expression since he saw KHD gave back the money. He thought that we didn’t want to buy. We gave them 10 USD for the fish.
  • All the crew along with HyunJoong clapped their hands for their first successful attempt.
  • HyunJoong said “ Thank you” in Vietnamese and wave us.
  • He waved to other ( Big Fan n our friend). He said “ típ, típ, típ, mua đi, mua đi” or “ next, next, buy this, buy this”. He pointed to the squid and said something in Korean.
  • We handed KHD 10 USD for the fish. KHD once again asked “ was it the price”. The interpreter nodded his head. Immediatelly, KHD made a hi-five with us. HyunJoong did the same hi-five with us. He screamed cheerfully as children when got the candy because he smoothly sold the fish. Uee also did the hi-five. All say Thank you again,
  • for the 3rd bid. It was still the old saying “ was it the price” of KHD.
  • After receiving the money, KHD and Uee shaked our hands and said “ Thank you”. HyunJoong stood behind and pat our back with a Thank you.
  • An old lady and us came towards the fish at the same time. But there were not enough snails for the two.
  • From outside Big fan suggested auction for the best price. After hearing the interpretation, his eyes brightened and he made an exclamation “woa” and clapped his hand showing his agreement.
  • PD’s said that who came first, served first so there was no need for auction. He showed up his regretful face.
  • After the bargain, the 0.3 kg of fish was down from 6 USD to 5 USD. He said “ Bán luôn” or “ sold” after hearing the interpretation. His voice was adorable.
  • They finished the mission successful. They all said “ Thank you” one more time.
  • When hearing PD said CUT. I squeezed his hand gently and gave him the box “ This gift is for our Uzoosin”.He smiled again, bowed his head and shaked my hand.
  • There were 2 PTB of Henecia VN doing charities, HyunJoong only had chance to sign on it and wrote 01.04.2012 (LOL 4D explode)
  • The bodyguard saw his action and took him away. The gift was in my hand since he asked me to keep when he signed.
  • Being pushed by the guard, he pretendto go backward and show his hand at his back. He event stopped to wait for me. Got his signal, I rushed to hand him the gift. Finally HyunJoong got it.

[News] Kang Ho Dong, Kim Hyun Joong, After School's Uee and More Caught Shooting New Variety Show in Vietnam

Kang Ho Dong and his crew have been caught shooting for their upcoming SBS show, Barefooted Friends, in Vietnam.

No information on the format of the new show, which is known to be hosted by Kang Ho Dong and produced by PD Jang Hyuk Jae of Family Outing, had been released, drawing more attention to what the new photos from the shoot have to show.

The photos from the show's filming in Vietnam, which took place on April 5, have been drawing fans to guess it could be an overseas version of 1 Night, 2 Days or Infinity Challenge.

Barefooted Friends features Kim Bum Soo, Kim Hyun Joong, After School's Uee, Yoon Shi Yoon, Yoo Se Yoon, Yoon Jong Shin and Super Junior's Eunhyuk, and the crew is led by Kang Ho Dong, their leader.

According to a local Vietnamese outlet, the cast seemed to be in a bright mood. Kang Ho Dong visited the local market with Uee and Kim Bum Soo, while in other photos they were shown walking in what looked like a desert.

A rep from the show said, "All of the members returned to Korea safely on April 8. They will be trying to fulfill missions while backpacking, and you can see what it will specifically be like on the broadcast to air on April 21. Their teamwork was great, and we're looking forward to the reactions."

K-Pop Star's Dream Stage special will air on April 14, and Barefooted Friends will follow in its time slot the next week.
