[Info] Kim Hyun Joong Will Appear in JiangSu TV’s ‘Take You to Stars’
JiangSu TV’s new variety show ‘Take You to Stars’ featured Bae Yong Joon and Kim Soo Hyun in their first episode. Kim Hyun Joong who is under the same agency, will be featured on the upcoming episode of ‘Take You to Stars’.
According to JiangSu TV, this time round, Kim Hyun Joong will not talk about singing and only talk about acting. He brought MCs to Inspiring Generation’s filming site and revealed what’s going on before and behind scenes of the drama. This will be first time for Chinese media to visit the filming of Korean drama.

On a recent episode of KBS 2TV "Our Neighborhood Sports and Arts," Kim Hyun Joong showed off a completely different side by proving that he is in fact a sports man. He surprised everyone with his training in what the national athletes dub as a hell room, the "Laurel Wreath."
Amidst training, Kim Hyun Joong showed off a tenacity never seen before. When the members were sent into Taereung Athlete Village, which offers extremely rigorous training, Kim Hyun Joong remarked, "I came to play badminton. What is this?" and couldn't hide his surprise. Although he failed the task of pulling 100 elastic ropes, he showed his tenacity when he succeeded doing the pull-ups.
In response to national champion and coach Kim Hak Kyun's claim of having 32 years of badminton experience, Kim Hyun Joong replied, "I have 2 minutes of badminton experience." Even with just his 2 minutes of experience, Kim Hyun Joong shined his athletic skills to the others.
In only 2 minutes of grabbing a racket, Kim Hyun Joong received a lesson in badminton from coach Kim Hak Kyun. He then went on to return the shuttle cock over the net with the "tok tok serve" and showed off lightning speed in the rotation training. He also brought laughter to the set with his quick and resilient yet goofy body movements as he fumbled after the shuttle cock.
Coach Kim Hak Kyun praised Kim Hyun Joong for consistently training with a serious attitude, saying, "I think that Kim Hyun Joong, despite having just started playing badminton, was the most diligent player today."
Although Kim Hyun Joong trained for a short time, he worked hard and moved about, even to the point of being drenched in sweat. Not only that, he was able to bring laughter to the viewers amidst the difficult training.
The cast members of "Our Neighborhood Sports and Arts" trained hard with the national athletes at Taereung Athlete Village, and the episode boasted a viewership of 8.3% (according to Nielsen Korea), and the number 1 viewership rating of that time slot. In next week's episode, the members will go head to head in a badminton battle against "Jeonnam Hwasun."

KBS’s sports variety show “Cool Kiz on the Block” is making its way to meet Japanese audience. An official with the show’s promoter Dramatic Talk told TenAsia over the phone on Wednesday that they will soon finalize the contract for selling 24 episodes to Japan, four of which have not hit the Korean television yet.
While it usually takes a year for most talked-about entertainment programs or its formats to be sold to other countries, it is rare for an entertainment program to be exported merely after four months since its run, the official added.
Several media outlets gave the credit to the show’s regular and TVXQ! member Max Changmin’s great popularity in Japan, which empowered the group to have concert in the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama as the first-ever foreign artist.
However, it was explained that the idol star was not the decisive reason although K-pop stars’s appearance on the show including John Park and 2PM’s Chansung have helped the show to earn recognition, which is also a nice opportunity for them to be recognized aside from singing.
Industry insiders say that broadcasting companies will gain more profit by exporting their entertainment programs to different countries, as variety shows have lower production coast compared to TV dramas.
Meanwhile, the “Cool Kiz” members are currently taking on the challenge of badminton where Kim Hyun Joong made his first guest appearance on yesterday’s episode. He will be on the show until next Tuesday.
The show, which premiered on April 9, goes on air at 11:10 p.m. KST every Tuesday.

The kdrama “Boys Over Flowers” was a big hit but at the time, singer-actor Kim Hyun Joong did not realize just how big it was.
He had no idea that his character Yoon Ji Hoo was considered by many women to be the perfect boyfriend. In “Boys Over Flowers,” a plucky girl, Geum Jan Di defies F4, the four most powerful spoiled rich boys at an upscale high school. Kim Hyun Joong’s character Ji Hoo is the nicest member of F4 and almost steals Geum Jan Di from the male lead, played by Lee Min Ho. In the process he stole the hearts of a lot of viewers. But apparently, he didn’t know.
On a recent episode of the show “Happy Together,” he confessed that he missed the chance to enjoy his popularity at the time.
“It was such a busy time and our interaction with the public was so limited,” said Kim. “I didn’t really feel any different.”
The show, which earned ratings as high as 34 percent, created another Korean wave throughout Asia and made superstars out of its cast members. Many kdrama lovers describe it as their gateway drama.
But despite the fact that Kim Hyun Joong’s “Boys Over Flowers” role earned him both a Best Actor award at the 2009 Seoul International Drama Awards and a popularity
awards at the 45 th Annual BaekSang Awards, he says his popularity did not fully sink in.
“I feel the popularity now, however,” said the actor, who has since appeared in “Playful Kiss” and recently signed on to play the role of a backstreet fighter in a new drama “Inspiring Generation,” which takes place in 1930s Shanghai.
As the lead singer of SS501 and later in his solo career, Kim has had plenty of chances to feel fans’ admiration and has in the past said he feels happiest when he is on stage. But he regrets not enjoying his popularity when “Boys Over Flowers” was a top drama.
“I could have been introduced to better women,” he said on “Happy Together.”
He kept the facts of his dating life a secret, although he did admit to dating someone. A few years ago on another variety show, he confessed that he dated one girl for three or four years before they broke up. He would not say who she was. He also said it was not easy for him to make the first move as he was shy.
“If I like a girl, I don’t say hello to her. If I talk to her I’m afraid she will know I like her. That’s why I avoid talking to her.”
If only he had realized at the time that kdrama lovers considered Ji Hoo the perfect boyfriend, he might not have been so shy.

On the August 15 episode of KBS 2TV's 'Happy Together 3', he revealed, "I've been dumped by a lot of women. Once, I even got dumped from a text message. She told me, 'Have a good life', so I replied, 'Okay'."
He added, "But if I date, I put my everything into the relationship. If we go out, I take care of everything. I can't stand seeing a girl flustered and not knowing what to do".
But apparently, even the mighty Kim Hyun Joong makes mistakes. He confessed, "Once, I called my girlfriend by my ex's name. I made the mistake and it really surprised the both of us."

Kim Hyun Joong appeared as one of the special guests on the recent episode of KBS’s variety talk program “Happy Together,” which was aired on August 15.
During the show, Kim Hyun Joong’s childhood photo was revealed. As they admired his good looks, MCs brought up the previous topic of his pre-debut savings and asked, “We heard that when you were a student, you made 100,000,000 Won (approximately 90,000 USD). Is this true?”
Kim Hyun Joong answered, “That is the total of what I made since I was a boy. At times, I didn’t even go to school. I worked full time.”
He continued, “I worked at a family restaurant franchise. I used to work all day and close it myself. I also used to have the job of killing the cockroaches once a month.”

The singer appeared in the August 15 broadcast of KBS2′s Happy Together 3 for its flower boy special.
He added that the makeup covers up what he thinks is his biggest flaw, the dark circles under his eyes.
"I sigh whenever I see my bare face," he said. "The dark circles have taken over."
MC Park Mi Sun, however, still had praise to say for the singer′s looks, as she said, "But you don′t have much makeup on now. Your dark circles add to your mood. I kept staring at you out of all the guests because I was so surprised [at your looks]."
