[Article] The Debut Of Doubles: Jackie Chan's New Group JJCC Follows The Path Of SS501, Double K, And AA
Known as 'Double S' or 'Double S Five Oh One' depending on who is introducing the group, SS501 debuted in 2005. The group is no longer under the same management and some of the members are in the army, but the group was one of the most popular groups in Korea for quite some time.
Even now, SS501's fanclub Triple S is very popular and it's easy to find SS501 paraphernalia and CDs, primarily thanks to the popularity of Kim Hyun Joong. Kim Hyun Joong, the leader of SS501, shot to stardom because of his role in Boys Over Flowers. The group's songs became immensely more popular after Boys Over Flowers aired, and they continued being popular until 2010 when SS501 went on hiatus.
SS501's 'Because I'm Stupid' is still often played in Korean cafes, thanks to its popularity from Boys Over Flowers, but 'Love Ya' was the last song that SS501 won an award for.

[News] 'Generation of Youth's production company responds to rumors of unpaid appearance fees for the cast
'Generation of Youth's production company denied rumors of the cast not being paid their appearance fees.
The drama's rep responded, "There has already been a lot of advance payment for appearance fees."
The drama's production company Ray&mo rep told OSEN on the 13th, "The report on our not paying appearance fees is far from the truth. We've paid most of the lead cast's appearance fees."
"We have already canceled our contract with the assisting casting company which claims that they [the cast] have not been paid their appearances... The affiliated company was not pleased with the appearance fees and have been making unrealistic demands. We are currently working with another company and we are taken aback by this sudden story."
Unpaid appearance fees unfortunately seem to happen every so often when it comes to dramas so let's hope that the cast and staff are getting paid properly.

[Article] Kim Hyun Joong Gets Praised With His Admirable Personality and Professionalism in Acting
Inspiring Generation lead actor Kim Hyun Joong admitted that he was uncertain about taking the role of Shin Jeong Tae in an action-thriller drama.
In fact, a lot of viewers were stunned when he portrayed a new image which was way farther than the roles he used to portray in his previous dramas Boys Over Flowers and Playful Kiss. Kim Hyun Joong was dubious towards taking the character in the drama Inspiring Generation. However, the roles he portrayed in his previous dramas didn’t capture much attention as it does in his current drama as Shin Jeong Tae.
Right after the drama premiered, various reactions from the viewers were reported. Majority comments were Kim Hyun Joong had turned into a 180-degree transformation. Viewers were also fascinated by how the action scenes looked intense and perfectly real. Scenes where Kim Hyun Joong showed his emotional acting skills carried out much emotion from the audiences and they had been totally moved. The staff complimented the actor for being flexible as he is able to carry out the different scenes quite well.
The TV Daily Executive official said, “The shooting scenes were very tight and quite difficult but there has always been a good progress in every session. Kim Hyun Joong need to perform a lot of action scenes so he really has to push a little harder with his physical skills. There were a lot of action scenes but he was not seriously injured with any of it. He was very careful.” He added, “ Despite the cold weather and even the wind was blowing harshly, he still has carried out the scenes without any difficulties. He is very professional.”
Kim Hyun Joong never complains and never takes advantages of the fact that he is a popular actor.
TV Daily interviewed his co-star Jo Dal Hwan and said, “I really want to keep our friendship even after the drama ends. I really admire his personality. Hyun Joong is younger than me and despite his toughness, he respects me very well.” He added, “When he acts, he is very focused with what he is doing. He acts from the heart. As what I see too, my senior colleagues also noticed how good Kim Hyun Joong’s personality is.”
At a press conference, Kim Hyun Joong’s co-star Song Jae Rim shared, “Kim Hyun Joong works really hard. He is always positive and he always brightens up the atmosphere with positivity. Kim Hyun Joong is very friendly with everybody but he never forgets to greet each and everyone politely.”
Another co-star Park Cheol Min told Entertainment Weekly, “Kim Hyun Joong learned martial arts very quickly. He is very eager to learn and immediately applies what he has learned. Even he had only seen the act once, he quickly learns and follows it. I guess he really has great abilities.”
Meanwhile, Inspiring Generation airs every Wednesday and Thursdsay at 10PM on KBS.

[Tweetbits] Kim Hyun Joong Drama Inspiring Generation Press Conference
Regarding his resemblance to child actor Kwak Dong-yeon, Kim Hyun Joong said, 'A lot of people said my acting skills have improved after watching the child actor's performance (in the first 4 episodes). But I remained quiet about it. The reason for that is because we look alike. Even his mother couldn't differentiate us judging from our side face. Because he took on the role in the childhood episodes, viewers don't seem to realise the different after the transition to the adult episodes.'
Kim Hyun Joong, 'I always put in my best effort. Compared to previously, it seemed I have improved. I think it's better to have fun at the same time while filming. While having the conscious that I/we are actually acting, I think it's easier to grasp the character if we think ourselves as that person/character living in that era. I wanted to work hard on my acting skills and have fun filming too.'
Kim Sung-O, 'It's the first time I challenge such as action-studded drama so it's difficult to memorise the actions but Hyun Joong seemed to be able to memorise them easily. Memorising the movements is different from memorising the script lines. I find it difficult but Hyun Joong is good in it. It seemed like he is very clever. I envy him'
Kim Hyun Joong, 'There is a scene where I removed all my clothes leaving only my underpants. It will be broadcasted this week. As for the rest, I'll leave it for the viewer's imagination. I made a promise with the director that this is the last time I reveal my body. I remember director said it'll be actress's turn next time'.
KHJ was asked what is the colour of the briefs and he said, 'If the colour is aired as well, the drama will be rated as 19+. So I’ll leave it to the viewer’s imagination. The scene was filmed carefully behind a blind. It was the briefs that I usually wear. And director said it will be female actress’ turn next time to ‘expose’’.
Given the title as 'Sirasoni' for his character as Shin Jung-taein the drama, Hyun Joong was asked whether will he (as KHJ himself) win against Yoon Hyung-bin.
He said, 'If I were to fight with Yoon Hyung-bin, it feels like I will lose in the fight.'
Continuing being questioned if his character, Shin Jung-tae, was to battle against with Yoon Hyung-bin, Hyun Joong answered, 'Wouldn't Sirasoni win? Don't you think Sirasoni last time is up to par to the standard with the present-day's UFC fighter, Fedor Vladimirovich Emelianenko?

1) Yoon Hyung-bin is previously a comedian in KBS2's Gag Concert, but debuted as a MMA fighter in Road FC fight held on February 9th, 2014. He won his first debut fight against Japanese fighter, Takaya Tsukuda
2) Sirasoni is a nickname given to a Korean legendary fighter called Yi Sung-soon who was a well-known best Korean martial artists (or street fighter) during the Japanese Occupation era. It is also thought to be Shin Jung-tae's character in the drama.

[News] Kim Hyung Jun and So E Hyun Deny Dating Rumors
S Plus Entertainment, Kim Hyung Jun’s agency, told enews on March 3, “We’ve checked and confirmed with Kim Hyung Jun that he is not dating So E Hyun. There was a misunderstanding because they are close to each other.”
“Kim Hyung Jun keeps close to many of his co-workers. That’s probably why this misunderstanding came about,” added the agency rep.
About the news report claiming that Kim Hyung Jun admitted he is dating her, the agency rep said, “That’s not true. We don’t know why such a report came out.”
A news report claimed earlier on March 3 that Kim Hyung Jun and So E Hyun got close by starring in KBS’sMy Shining Girl in 2012 and have been dating for one year.

[Article] Kim Hyun Joong Talks About the Hard Work That Staff Do During Drama Filming
Kim Hyun Joong talked about the improvement of labor for his drama staff.
On the 2nd, KBS 2TV's 'Documentary 3 Days' aired a special video about the BTS of 'Generation of Youth'. The documentary showed the staff working day and night without even a moment of rest.
During the interview, Kim Hyun Joong said, "If a drama becomes a hit, the actors get everything in profit. To be honest, the staff doesn't have any other reward. All they get is the satisfaction that they participated in the drama."
He added, "Even though the environment isn't improving at all, all the staff work even harder to make a better drama on another level."
