Kim Hyung Jun and Tiny G will be joining in an environment campaign in Bangkok, Thailand.
The two teams will appear as the Korean representatives at the Thailand Korea Friendship Festival 2012, to be held from December 14-16. They will be performing at the opening and closing ceremonies, and also participate in the global warming prevention campaign and fundraising events.
The Thailand Korea Friendship Festival is hosted by the Korean Embassy in Thailand and the Thai Ministry of Culture, and supervised by the Korea Thailand Communication Center (KTCC). It is the biggest Korea-Thailand festival to be held yearly in Bangkok, and even last year helped out victims of the flood in Thailand with item donations from hallyu stars such as Lee Byung Hun and Han Hyo Joo.
This year′s event will take place under the theme ′Together for Green World′, and host a variety of cultural and environmental events. On opening day Kim Hyung Jun and Tiny G, which holds the Thai member Mint, will perform, and Thai top star Nuengthida Sophon, who starred in the Thai film Hello Stranger filmed entirely in Korea, will sing a song from the film.
Traditional Thai performances will follow, along with Korean traditional performances from World Beat Vinari. There will also be performances by the taekwondo team of Korea′s Dong-A University, ′Black Leopard′, and the winning team from Thailand of the global K-Pop cover dance contest.
Many promotions of Korean food and the protection of copyrights will take place at the event while hallyu stars and their fan clubs will join in campaigns to plant trees and recycle for the environment.
Public affairs officer Lee Jun Ho of the Korean embassy said, “The event is meaningful in that it increases the amount of exchange as a cultural event, and helps people from both countries share their interests.”
