[Article] Kim Hyun Joong Fans Happy With New Singles But Wish He Had Drama Plans

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong has released more digital singles but his fans want to know when is he going to appear in another drama?

In November, the lead singer of SS501 released the solo single "Marry Me." He recently followed that up with the sweet ballad, "What It Means to be Alive" and will release a third single, "Tonight' while attending fan meetings in Japan.

According to his agency, "Kim Hyun Joong has been trying to prepare something special for his Korean fans even as he was touring in Japan and doing fan meetings. While trying to think of a present for his fans, he decided to release a digital single as a surprise just in time for his June 6 birthday."

At one recent fan event, he noticed fans were waiting outside in the hot weather and requested that they be allowed to wait for him inside. Then, he shook hands with every one of the 8,000 people in the audience. It took hours and really impressed his fans.

According to an agency representative, it's a given that his music will be better with every single release, but it's the singer's special charm that really appeals to fans. He takes care of the fans that have been waiting a long time to see him and that's something you don't see in every star.

Well, how about the fans that have been waiting a long time to see him in another drama? Hopefully, someone is working on that.

Kim Hyun Joon became a popular kdrama star after his performance as the world's best boyfriend Yoon Ji Hoo in "Boys Over Flowers." The role won him a Best Actor Award at the Seoul International Drama Awards and a Popularity Award at the Baeksang Awards. He then played Beak Sung Jo, arguably the world's worst boyfriend, in "Playful Kiss," plus putting in a cameo appearance in "Dream High."

He was supposed to play the role of Baek Mi Reu in "City Conquest," a drama about a man who blames his father for abandoning him and sets out on to seek revenge. Based on the comic of the same name, the series could not find a broadcaster. Rumors said it was too expensive to produce, that it was too much like the drama "City Hunter," starring Lee Min Ho, and that the story was too violent. After KBS denied it a slot in the 2013 lineup, Kim dropped out.

He currently has no other drama projects lined up but his fans are getting impatient. Can someone please

write him a great drama and find a broadcaster for it?
