[News] Kim Hyun Joong’s New Japanese Single ‘Hot Sun’ Ranks No. 1 on Oricon Chart

Kim Hyun Joong’s newly released single album Hot Sun has been heating up Japan.

The singer released his fourth Japanese single album Hot Sun on June 18, immediately selling 65,000 copies and ranking number one on Oricon’s daily chart. He recorded the album sales three times greater than Japanese band UVERworld’s new album, which was released on the same day.

Despite releasing a new album after one year since he released his third single Tonight last June, Kim Hyun Joong is receiving love from Japan and signaled a great start for his upcoming promotions. The success is known to be partly due to his dramaThe Age of Feeling, which is scheduled to air through Japanese channel DATV starting in August.

Hot Sun which ranked number one on Oricon’s daily chart has been designed with various concepts, being full of Kim Hyun Joong’s unique charms. The title song Hot Sun is a rock style summer song that has been composed by Steven Lee, who has worked with Kim Hyun Joong for a long time.

Timing, which is a pop style dance song, has been featured by Japanese group AAA’s rapper Mitsuhiro Hidaka, gathering spotlights along with Hot Sun. The album also contains other fast-tempo songs, such asB.I.N.G.O, which is a punk rock, and Good-Bye, an up-tempo pop rock.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong will be meeting with the fans through handshaking events in Nagoya on June 19 and in Osaka on June 20.
