[News] SS501′s Kim Hyun Joong Had a Secret Meeting with Bae Yong Joon

It was revealed that SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong and Korean hallyu megastar Bae Yong Joong had a secret private meeting on the 28th.

Fans are particularly interested in this because the two don’t seem to have much in common. One is a singer while the other is an actor, they have a 14 year age difference and they’ve never worked on a project together. [News] Kim Hyun Joong Sends Letter and Present to a Sick Thai Fan

SS501's Group leader send a gift and letter to oversea fan who is sick, this news has spread widely and became a hot topic. On 14 February, in the English Korean Entertainment Information Site Soompi, there's an article titled 'A Miracle occurred in Thailand' attracted most attention. In the article, it was mentioned that one Thailand fan received Kim Hyun Joong's letter and present.

According to the article, one member of a Thailand Fan club has undergo kidney transplant operation but the result was not very good and is staying in the hospital. This fan has been waited for SS501 Thailand Concert on the 13th February since long time ago, however due to her worsen health, could not go to their concert. Therefore, her friend wrote a letter to Kim Hyun Joong.

According to the fan: "Because the bodyguards were very strict, they could not pass the letter to Kim Hyun Joong directly. One fan when passed her present to Kyu Jong hide the letter together and gave to him. This letter might be passed to Hyun Joong by Kyu Joong."

When Hyun Joong knew about the actual condition and found out about the hospital that the Thailand fan is staying at, he sent his regards through a letter and present to the fan. The fan happily said: "It is really a miracle."

When consoling the fan that couldn't attend their concert because of her illness, he wrote in his letter: "Because of the schedule of the concert, I couldn't see you. After the concert, I will send you the concert video." He even called up the fan via an interpreter.

[News] SS501 Rewrite Hallyu History in End 2009

After conquering Japan, Taiwan, Shanghai and various Asia countries, boy group SS501 continue to rewrite Korea history in end 2009.

Since their August Seoul Concert began, SS501 started to extend their reach to various countries in Asia.

Their Asia Tour Concert created a whirlwind that swept through Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and various countries, gaining high popularity and once again proven the charm of hallyu wave.

Especially their leader Kim Hyun Joong, after acted in KBS 2TV popular drama "Boys over Flowers", in turned caused his group to gain higher popularity. The popularity of 'Boys over Flowers' continued to heat up till the entire Asia.

Group SS501 won the O.S.T award in ‘2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards’.

SS501 who sang ‘Because I am Stupid’ in KBS2 ‘Boys Over Flowers’ OST, won the O.S.T award in 2009 MAMA held on 21-Nov at 7pm in Seoul JamShil indoor stadium, putting out others such as Baek JiYoung’s ‘Don’t forget (IRIS)’, Lee SeungChul’s ‘There is such a person (More Than Blue)’, T-Max’s ‘Paradise (Boys Over Flowers)’, Tiffany’s ‘Because I am alone (Princess Jamyunggo)’.

Mnet Asian Music Award / MAMA held on Nov 21,2009 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium – 7 pm onwards.


Our boys have been nominated in 4 categories (Male Group, Ost. Award, Artist of the Year, Overseas Award), yet, they only won the Ost. Category! No need to bash other winners – coz no matter what controversy this event has- all we have to do as a good fans is simply congratulating our boys SS501 as one of the winner as well as congratulating other artists who also won!

Though the boys was absent for the event, SS501 won for OST.Award with their song ‘Nae Meoriga Nappaseo’ of Boys over Flowers drama. The boys beat Baek Jiyoung, SNSD Tiffany, Lee SeungCheol, and T-Max. Congrats.
